Description
This image clearly portraits what happened in the ancient Rome. War prisoners of the populations defeated by Romans in the expansion of their Empire were brought to Rome to become slaves, and the strongest, gladiators in the Colosseum Events. The duels of Gladiators were a cruel and bloody spectale that nearly always ended with the death of one of the contenders. Now a US -TV serie called Spartacus Blood and Sand shows the story of a famous ancient Trax gladiator...I have seen some episodes and have to say they are really much near to that terrible reality...When I have come to Rome and see Colosseum I felt "shivers" on my back..I don't know why...At the bottom of the image you see also a 3d reconstruction of Circus Maximus where there were chariots races...Do You remember Ben Hur? OK this was ROME -CAPUT MUNDI!
