Part of a window frame at Battery Kinsey. I'm sure a hundred years ago it worked perfectly!
I haven't had as much time to spend on Renderosity as I'd like during the past few weeks, so my comments have been a bit thin on the ground. I've been looking, but have had to compress my activities in order to get everything done. I know you don't expect it ... my remorse is more about me than about you! LOL! I like leaving comments, and when I'm pressed for time, I miss it.

Love the way you've postworked these old window sash pulleys. And without a doubt, they are 100 years old...and probably exposed to fog and the salt air of the Strait of Juan de Fuca for at least the last 60 years. I'll bet the carpenter who installed these in 1910 never thought his common task would be viewed in an artistic photo in 2010.

The line from Cymbeline came to mind; "Like chimney-sweepers, come to dust." I really like the composition and post work. This shows the effect of time very well.
This really works marvelously! I love your eye for details. I once read somewhere that everything in life is details...actually it was moments, but moments are just temporal details. This fits that perfectly, and I love the focus on the colors and the textures and the slightly tilted POV that keeps everything just off-center in perfect ways. This is really a marvelous piece of work. I like this a lot. A whole lot! Ha, and I'm listening to that passacaglia again, and it fits this image to a tee...that's always a plus. (If it goes good with a moody passacaglia, it must be good!)

This is something I would expect to see at some grandmother's house, but it would probably have those old-lady lace curtains too. I really like the slant this has, and that really bright screw. This is great! I wish I had more computer time so I could keep up, but at least I saw this one.
