Description
Another of the Bearded Irises that are starting to bloom for me. This one has a Locust Borer visiting it. I see these bugs on these flowers every year.

These are one of my favorite flowers. They are so lacy and what a great scent. I only wish they bloomed longer. I think of irses and hollyhocks as old fashioned flowers. They remind me of flowers one used to see in their grandmothers yard. My favorite. Thanks for the great image and trip down memory lane : )

I have exactly the wrong sort of soil for bearded irises, but the right sort for the beardless Japs and siberians. Superb pic of both the gorgeous bloom and the smart insect.
