Fascinating! Great captures!
How very strange and lovely! Great shots!
Very interesting plant and captures. Fantastic colors, light and details.
WOOOW! Carin !!! That is indeed interesting and also very beautiful. Such fun to see the difference :-)))
I must say I find him most attractive! She looks quite dishevelled in comparison.
Very unique, great compo of the two. I do not see any insects which would aid the process of reproduction. Clive
She looks like she has the hives. LOL All kidding aside, this is a fine presentation of a most unusual plant. Yes, I could go with prehistoric:)
Splendid shot of them. The male one, I like the most. ;-)
The female looks hairier than the male - now there's a turn up for the books!! Nice pics.
She looks rather prickly, very interesting flowers!!
Super cool shots. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome!!! The male thing looks better :D
Fantastic comparison. I'll leave any sexist jokes alone on these two Thank you
Very interesting plant and captures !
Interesting plant and capture Carin. Outstanding work. Lol captured the same spider on the same spot with better lighting conditions. Will share it later.
bonne photo!!
Beautiful, Carin. These wonderful shots are the first close look I've had at the Welwitchia flowers. Fascinating!
Male and female flowers??? I didn't think that was possible. A good looking photo nonetheless.
TERRIFIC CAPTURE! THEY'RE REALLY SEXY!
more and more interesting. I think I would prefer to be the male :)
I know they're but mere flowers, albeit unique and unusual ones, but they sure look like the big buggers that I see in horror movies, especially when they scurry across the floor en masse to devour a helpless victim. In any case, cool everything in this capture of the interesting flora, Carin!
Definitely designed for science fiction! Throughly unusual and absolutely fascinating.
Put me in the camp for the male plant as the more attractive : ) Another fascinating view of these bizarre and beautiful bits of nature.
I agree the male is prettier, in my estimation. Thanks for the comparison ... it's quite easy to tell the difference!
WOW! The males look like little alien bugs busily doing whatever it is that little alien bugs would feel the need to do! The females are nicely spiky and equally alien, but less buggish though they do have a nicely sea creature sort of shape to them. These are gorgeous, but I've never known nature to produce anything I didn't like, except maybe bedbugs--the bane of hostels the world over! I hate those things as much as I hate bananas! But anyway, enough about them. This is marvelous, simply gorgeous and I had no idea that there were plants like this at all...what a duo of gems.
You can tell who does all the work :o) great pics!!!!
Alien looking plant, great capture!!! :>
very very interesting !!!
Right! so now I know! They look a bit....not of this world. That makes they great for pictures! Rob
Very cool! Great shots!
