Description
Namibia 2010
Last year we took pictures of this little wooden boat called "The Foxy". It was definitely not seaworthy but still used as a planter with the sides still intact and the name proudly on the back. This year I went back to The Foxy and this is all that was left after one year.
I find it pretty symbolic! Isn't it true that with all things in life - if you do not nurture it and take care of it - you will eventually only be left with the skeleton... *sigh*
Thank you for popping in and for your wonderful support in comments and favs on my "A Sunset to Remember" upload of yesterday!
Stay well!

very nice capture
Super hint of colour on black and white. Nothing stays the same!!!
Very nice capture and commentary
Outstanding capture Carin.
Fantastic image. Superb selective coloring. Everything is impermanent.
Yeah, that is unfortunately true, Carin, but still you maneged to make a beautiful shot out of it. Well done :-) I love what you did to it.
Very nicc capture !Very true assertions !
Sometimes things fall apart in spite of care.. but other things spring out of the wreckage.
I like the shot alot (regards of the interesting side note about time) I think the image stands up well on it own - I see you may have run into the same problem I also have at times with color level becomeing overly vivid as a result of postwork - as in the boat rust ? - I would be interested in knowing if I am seeing this correctly ? Super Work :)
Excellent capture! :)
Nothing last forever. Excellent revisited capture!
Sign of time! RS
As the Buddhist say, Nothing is permannet life is ever changing. I like the way you isolated the color on the foxxy.
bien sur ,belle photo
Great shot and postwork!
I like that the "ribs" look like animal ribs; great composition and capture!
Wonderful image, Carin. Great work.
wonderful imagine !
I hear you, girlfriend, loud and clear. Things have to be taken care of, or they just fall apart. A wonderful shot, full of all kinds of meaning and details!!
OMG, a drab surfeit of foreground chaos and clutter in this interesting capture, Carin! Looks relatively shipshape in the distance, though.
very nice photoshop work on this Carin
How true and also so sad. That is life and this still life is perfect. Dana
A commentary on life through the images over time, wonderful!
And next year the skeleton will be dust...
Things which are not nurtured will, indeed, fall apart after a while. That's true of many things. This is a wonderful image ... I love the pov!
What a brilliant shot! Great use of selective colouring.
The colour in a B&W adds to the feel of dereliction.
You are so right Carin, be interesting to see a year hence. Great capture though!!!!
Wonderful image...!!!! :>
Yes, everything is impermanent. Very good mood.
