Description
I have no idea what kind of bird this is, but it appears to have a red spot between it's wings on the back.it was hovering at the post where it is building a nest inside.it seemed too large for a hummingbird.I was downtown before the storm that never happened was suppose to come in.I watched the bird for a couple of minutes and after going in, it peeked it head out to see if all was clear/just like a periscope
thanks for looking and any comments.have a safe weekend and enjoy Easter if you celebrate it

a red-winged blackbird? this is an awesome shot, well done!
Really great shot. Love the discription of the bird popping its head out later to check if it was all clear. From the discription of the bird, it almsot sounds like the cowbirds (I think they were Red-Winged Blackbirds...but I couldn't swear to that) that used to torment my dogs. :-)
That quick eye of yours has done it again. Bravo!!!
A fasinating capture my friend superb work hugs lou x
Lovely shot of this bird Richard looks like it to busy building its nest to work about anything else. Lovely posting!
A beautiful shot, this picture. You've spotted a builder in action, with big plans in his head to realize! (That bird is planning more to live ;-))
I had to look twice to see what the heck he was carrying lol!

I'll put my two cents on Red-Wing Blackbird. Good action shot...he's obviously flying into the wind resulting in a hover... Good catch.
Super shot, Richard...and does sound like a Red-winged Blackbird.
