Description
If I'm not mistaken, the large island in the background is Cypress Island, up in the San Juans in Washington State.
Some friends and I went out looking for eagles and tundra swans back in January, and we stopped at the beach just as it was getting dark.
I love the way the sky turns slowly to dark blue, with lighter shades near the horizon that get darker as you look up. I'm told this is called the "blue hour" and it's one of my favorite times of the day.

This has a soft, quiet feel to it. The shades of blue are wonderful, so subdued. This is a view that begs to be seen, and taken in.

Most of the time you take a picture and miss a little something. Maybe the lighting isn't just right or the focus is a little soft. Not this time. This is freaky good, overwelming. It's one that needs to be a mural on the wall of a livingroom.
