Description
Taken at Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior in Minnesota. I used a polarizing filter, no postwork, except to resize and frame.
Thanks for looking :) My previous upload, "Liquid Silver".
This will be my last upload for several weeks. I am having surgery Tuesday and I expect I won't feel like sitting at the desk for a few weeks! I'll probably just take a quick trip through RR a couple times through the weekend, and then I will see you when I get back! I'll miss you all.
Have a great day/week/Easter/month! :P
Hugs,
~Melinda~

Beautiful. Doesn't a photo like this straight out of the camera make you feel good? I am glad I stopped here tonight...let me wish you well during your surgery and get well time. I took almost three weeks off from both posting and commenting during surgery I had last August. The break refreshed me in all ways. We'll be pulling for you and thinking about you:)
a place of amazing beauty and a fine shot! Wishing you all the best for your surgery and may you get all well in the shortest of times!
Great picture. I wish the surgery goes well.

Beautiful image!!!
excellent shot !!
Wow this is stunning, have you framed this one yet and hung it somewhere, it sure would be beautiful to display.. Well Melinda, hang in there, I know exactly what you are going through this weekend, as I went through the same surgery, I hope you got the site mail I sent I never heard back from you but that is ok, I know how busy you are. I did the same thing before, I took care of as many things as I could possibly think to do, so I would have less stress. Please let me know how you are doing. Be strong, and you are in my thoughts. hugs to you!
Amazing color in the sky! I shoot at night because I always blow out the sky:). Excellent shot!
Awesome, the lighthouse & rocks are amazing. Hope all goes well with your surgery. xxx
Oh what a stunning image, so great. Tuesday, I think of you, and the following days. I'm sending you a lot of good courage, and hope you'll recover quickly. Warm regards <3.
I love this image! The POV is perfect as is the clarity. There's a particular and haunting mood to this, which is a nice feat, considering that it's a bright and not particularly brooding image. It's the subject matter itself I think, the way lighthouses always seem so isolated, so completely independent of the rest of land-based reality, but not exactly a part of the seascape. You've captured that so perfectly and I feel the vibe of it quite strongly. It's in the way the photograph is framed by the foliage and the rocks, and the people seem to heighten the mood immensely...they're clear but diminutive and again, not exactly the part of the image you would expect...yes, they're a part of the environment you captured, and by the woman's clothing, she looks as if she could be the lighthouse keeper's wife...but there's something just a wee bit...mysterious about her and the guy she's talking to. I really like that. This is brilliant work.
I am late wishing you a successful surgery, but so glads you are back.very beautiful lighthouse and cliffs
Wishing you all the best for your surgery and may you get well in the shortest of time !!!! Hugs Karin :)
