Description
Namibia 2010
I have captured this image south of Walvis Bay! I'm standing with my back to the ocean. For a few hundred meters these little dunes with some plantlife hug the ocean and in the distance you can see the mighty dunes of the Namib! I also liked the shadows and sun spots that the fog made with full sun in the distance over the dunes! Wonderful world where I can easily lose myself!
Thank you for your comments and favs on my upload "Invictus" of yesterday!
Stay well!
Hugs, Carin xx

Wonderful scene! I bet you can see millions of stars at night there.
Fantastic view on this dry land. Excellent shot!
Where the wind plays hide and seek! Wonderful place.
Very pretty but barren - I suppose you could say 'pretty barren'.
Fantastic shot! love the interplay of light and shadow
WOAU! Carin, it is so beauuuutiful. No wonder you love your country so much. And i love the cloudy sky. It gives the shot a fantastic and peaceful mood. Love it.
so desolate... beauty!
Strangely captivating!
wonderful landscape!!
Nice capture of this sand/plantlife area. Aloha
This is lovely; on the surface it might seem desolate, but it's so much the perfect representation of a desert...very very beautiful!
What a wonderful depth in this gorgeous scene!!
It looks so beautiful & remote but someone has been driving on the dunes, or was it you!!!!!
fantastic photo ! already would love to be there !!!
Barbara - those tracks are actually jackal footprints and not tyre tracks! This area was wonderfully "clean" of 4X4 tracks!
A wonderful almost pastel landscape!
Strange interesting landscape. Thanks for sharing
One of the most fabled desserts in the world. Thank you for showing us a place I've always wanted to see.
Superb capture Carin.
Excellent photo!
Wonderful shot.
This is a really wonderful landscape image!
Desert jackals? It never ceases to amaze me how tenacious life is. This is a wonderful image showing how life survives near the coastal fog and how barren it becomes further out. I remember seeing a docutmentary on Etosha and how quickly life rebounded when it rained.
Capital capture of the intriguing dunes and flora of the Namib, Carin! Besides the wonderful foreground, I also like the low hanging fog in the distance, which gives a fantasy effect. I can tell by your narrative you were completely enraptured by the captivating environs of the area.
Awesome view... yep, I guess it's pretty easy to get lost over there!
Wonderful shot! I love the grasses and the dunes in a landscape that looks like it goes on forever! Great work!
I love looking at the shapes, the swells of sand, the tracks, the vegetation. There's something fascinating about looking back and forth, around and around, and this mesmerizing landscape. Beautiful!
Fascinating Carin...think of how long this terrain has been like this...shifting, shifting, shifting, yet staying the same.
This is just the most amazing place, every shot shows some different view and they are all wonderful!!
That really looks like a fascinating place Carin
