Description
Another shot from our day out in Snohomish. This is a fairly new walkway, and I love it that they went to the trouble to make the railing something a bit special.
It's always interesting to me how people in the same place at the same time will see different things. I was taking this shot, and Bill was surprised that I'd seen anything interesting in the railing. He took a few shots on the other side of the walkway, and ended up with a totally different image from this one.
Since I only shot what I immediately saw, I never got the shots he got. It's a lesson in shooting ... when you see something you like, step back and move around and see what else is there!

Looks very good! I particularly like the rough texture of what I think are some kind of cast metal ball-like decorative thingies along the top railing of this unique fence. I guess now is a good time to upload my image of the other side of this fence...I'll do a coin toss to pick color or B&W for my image:)

Very interesting perspective on this - it sweeps the eye right into the photo. I've always found it amazing how two (or more) photographers will be at the same location at the same time, and come away with completely different views of the same thing. In looking at both yours and Bill's photos, I can tell it's the same location, but the different perspectives make it quite fascinating. Excellent capture!
If I do the same shooting with my wife, we've always different results. I like this sharp close up and still a overal view of the walkway. RS

Just redirected from Bill's version of this railing. Your B&W version works very well and is totally different but also the same as Bill's. This is part of my problem with my own RR postings. I am surrounded with wildlife and I see so much on my daily walks. I don't stop to see what I walk by daily. This does show the textures and strength of the railing. Well seen and well caught. Thanks for waking me up to what is out there. Dana
