Description
There was a tall ship in Humboldt Bay last weekend, and I happened to be walking along the bay while it was docked. I couldn't get a very good foto of the entire ship; there were just too many obstacles and people in the way. So, here's the fore mast, with all its ropes and rigging. Just figuring out what goes where in that maze must take forever!!

It looks rather knotty and complicated... I think I will leave it to the pros to figure out what goes where! I will probably sink her if I should try! It makes a great photo though! :)
What a great shot!! Yes, it always amazes me that they can figure out what ropes goes to where and what it does...Me? I'd have them ALL wound up and the sails probably dangling at an odd angle, LOL
And if you get it wrong.....
I love the pattern of the rigging in tall ships; beautiful capture here!
Good looking photo. Nice work.
where the pirites lol. cool shot
wonderful snap!
beautiful shot of this ship, very nice well done!!
You did something here that I'd hope I would think of...catch what you can see with no obstructions... By shooting this you probably got the most interesting shot of the day...while all the others with cameras got so-what images of this tall ship.
Great shot with wonderful detail!
Interesting tall ship with roots back here. Just don't pull any of the ropes or....you might have an out door movie theater screen before you. Aloha
Tall ships have always been a passion of mine. I have a friend who works as volunteer crew for a tall ship moored in Galveston and I can't get enough. Isn't the rigging just about the most exciting thing in the whole world? It makes my mind work overtime.
between you and Tara May sure look up a lot lol which is good this is so cool warm hugs, Linda
Looks kind of like a telephone wire gone haywire..... Don't know if I would climb this rigging or not. Aloha
A superb capture!
belle vue
This is a very nice rigging shot, particularly because she still has the canvas rather than bare yards.
