But with the night drawing on, and the conversation turning to bawdy innuendoes about Faeryl’s religious rites, Aeron bid good night to the others. Still preoccupied by the image of beautiful moon elf he had encountered earlier, and wondering if there was some destiny awaiting him, would it be kind enough to bring her back to him, he opened the door to his room and froze at the sight before him. There, lounging on the bed was the very beauty that haunted his thoughts. The light from the hallway bathing her glorious, naked form. “Well… are you going to invite the whole place to join us, or are you going to close the door?” Nykira asked sarcastically. Still unsure if his mind was playing tricks on him, Aeron stumbled thought the threshold and closed the door behind him. With his eyes struggling to adjust to the darkness, he barely saw the object she tossed to him in time to catch it… the purse he had give her earlier, still partial filled with coins. “What…?” Aeron stammered, his mind finally starting to accept that this was real. “I was hungry,” Nykira explained casually, as she slip off the bed and moved toward him. “I heard what the dwarf said,” she stated in a cold tone. “Isn’t this the “compensation” you expected in return?” she fanned out her arms in mock invitation. “No!” Aeron replied in shock, although he could not stop his eyes from roaming across her wondrous, slender figure. “I didn’t expect anything… I didn’t think I’d ever see you again!” A wicked smile grew on Nykira’s lips as she recognizing the honesty in his answer. “Then I guess this is an unexpected reward,” she cooed, as her arms circled his neck and drew his lips to her’s. The fifth and final principal character from “the Table of Five”, a Dungeons & Dragons campaign set in the Silver Marches of the Forgotten Realms. The daughter of a noble moon elven house that waned to near extinction after the fall of Myth Drannor, but has risen rapidly with the end of the Retreat, Nykira was never the proper elf-lady her station demanded, and fled a life of comfort and wealth in Everlund for the thrill of adventure. Often daring beyond foolhardiness, she serves the greater good instinctively, facing life and death with capricious humor.
