Description
As an observation, the graves here seemed far more 'ornate' compared to the average Australian burial site.

They are very ornate arent they? Nice pic
Yep! I've seen this sort of thing before.. In Paris and the like... I S'pose you use what you use! Rob
these types of structures derives from the ancient Roman graves. They are typical of Central and Southern Italy.
Wonderful shot. beautiful craftsmanship
I love the contrast between this foto and the one of the Australian graves; they really are different. Makes for a far more interesting look!!
Wonderful work on the structures, great shot!
WOW! Yes, the contrast is almost jarring. I won't go off on a grave-yard commentary here, but suffice it to say that there is a difference in perception and that's quite interesting on an anthropological level. That's what I like about cemeteries though, you get so many different ways of dealing with the same event. This is well seen and perfectly presented.
Our graves are mainly below ground level, this is very European as Rob says.
Superb capture my friend.
And they look newer or at least maintained more often. Excellent capture.
