Description
Winding down on this series with one more after this. It was an expensive trip where I broke my tripod and trekpod. Little falls, scratches and bruises but liquid bandage fixes it all. You pick up all the pieces including yourself and keep on hiking hopefully to end the day with a great story to tell. Aloha and thank you for viewing.....

WOW! What an image! I'd pay to make a capture like this. I particularly love the smoother lava forming a kind of sensual bulge catching sunlight, while the hotter stuff continues to ooze rather like...well...like lava! This is an amazing piece of work, showcasing Mother Nature's love of the abstract (in terms of freeform shapes.) Great stuff!
This is wonderful--hope you got everything patched up and working again.
I hope you zoomed to get this or you were just way too close! Amazing pooling and liquidity of the rock is stellar.
EDIT: I made a typo and posted again......WOW......zoom in is a real must...what a spectacular image you took...it has something magical....I really like the glow.....this shows how dangerous it good be.....hope everything is okay.....sorry for not commenting lately, I am not well the last few weeks.....
Great story to read where you hiking and share the info about lava. Realy fantastic pictures but don't leave your skin there. Be clever pls.
As they say 'You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs'! YouR photos prove to me that your trip was WORTH IT big time.
IMPRESSIONNANT !!!
I love the almost abstract quality of this shot. Excellent! (Sorry to hear about your broken equipment)

You must have a strong spirit Falling, bruising, breaking things We sure don't want you falling and doing something to set you back I think it is time to sit for a spell sweetie.... Find something like a neat catfish pond grin This is an awesome image...better you taking the image than me Stay safe Hugs Susan~
fantastic!
Wonderful image, just watch your step!
I'm glad we don't have volcanos in Colorado, or I'd have to be crazy like you and Dave and take up lava shooting - lol... I've seen a lot of punaguy's photos threw the years and don't look at too much art since I have so many favorites, but I noticed you've been taking lots of shots of lava/fire so I definately want to come back for more... super shots.
Always a great series. Your photos always have great stories in them. Which is why you are the master and why so much of us keep coming back to see your next masterpiece. Mahalo
Peering into the bowels!
this has been an incredible journey you have treated us to and I immensely enjoy each post
Aloha Sharky, Your pictures volcanic influenced me a lot for my artistic creations with Terragen, Vue and Bryce ... Aloha...........Errol Lior
Your trek has been filled with the unseen...exposed for us all. I sure can see how a fall on this rough terrain wouldn't be difficult...well, you will get some new equipment out of this hike too. Beautiful set of images for us.
Nice shot! Yes, keep on going....
Considering the nature of your subject matter, I'd say you did alright, could have been worse. If it were me there, the tripod and my feet would probably be gone:). Cool shot, the color and textures of the lava are fantastic. Well done again!
Your photos always have great stories in them :) Nice shot, keep on going... 5* Aloha, dear Errol :):):)
That you would dare to get this close is amazing. Wonderful shots.
I'm amazed that you can get these shots to share; it looks dangerous! Great work!
