Description
First fruits of our trip to see Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection.
This was where I caught auntietk having a ball taking Art the Docent's picture:) Click Here
Oh, excuse me, the plane! Yes,...A beautifully, fully restored British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc. This one is in unit markings of the Royal Air Force 312, "Free Czech" Squadron.
We'll both have a lot more jewels to post over time from this collection.
I employed my postwork style here that worked well for me 5-6 months ago after visiting the US Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.
ZOOM shows off paint and swoopy lines best:)

Very nice shot!!
Not only an outstanding shot Bill but so clear and crisp. Love the postwork. Dana
Very nice! I've got shots of this plane too, but I think I like yours better. Great postwork! You're giving me all sorts of ideas. Unless the image is cowling and prop, I'm a little lost! LOL!
Wow what a great shot of a beautiful plane. I can see why your eyes were hurting!
Beautiful shot--love the colors and light!!
Lovely aircraft and post work, very well done Bill, excellent!!
Wonderful shot. Always difficult in a tight space like a museum.
A beautiful little plane with very nice proportions. Excellent shot :-)
Excellent work, Bill! Whenever I see one of these I'm reminded that the lads who flew them were scarcely out of short pants..we owe them so much!
fantastic capture!!!
Yay - I knew it was a Spitfire even before I read your comment!!! Gosh - I'm proud of me... LOL... Excellent image Bill and she is in pristine condition! :)
You achieved well again, Bill! Great capture and work, Clive
The legendary Spitfire...Marvelous to see one restored to such magnificent condition... An hunting friend of my Dad passed away this year. He flew a Spitfire during WWII's Battle of Britain.... Cheers Ken
Excellent presentation.
Ohhhhh gotta make sure Rob sees this!! To cool Bill!!!
Very pretty little plane; but isn't it dangerous painting a bullseye on the side? Might be asking for trouble...
Masking it out really highlights the color of the paint job. Excellent
Cool bird... excellent shot, Bill!
This is such a sharp, clear pic. Great capture!!!!
EXCELLENT SHOT!!!!!!
Excellent view...look like the VIEW FROM THE JAP ZERO sec before taktaktaktaktaktaktaktak
Oh yes, this should get Rob's blood pumping....maybe even Andrea's. Fine POV employed in this three quarter shot of the storied aircraft, Bill. This one is really decked out in colorful markings and camouflage.
Wonderfully done!
it is a beautiful plane and shot
WOW! What a gorgeous piece of aviational machinery! It's graceful and wonderfully colored. I'm always amused by the colors that humans apply to machines, and I'm especially touched by the circular version of the Czech Flag placed prominently at the fore of the cockpit. I always get oddly patriotic when I see that flag, which is--just so you'll know--a bit more um...polite than the twin-tailed "rampant lion" that graces the Czech coat of arms. That particular lion is both male and anatomically correct, which is a hoot when you look at Czech coins and notice a little something extra. Wonderful shot that causes my brain to make all sorts of associations.
Wonderful work. Well did you come back to snow? It sure has been a cold winter here, I need to take one of those out west trips, so I can remember what sunshine looks like, more chance of light snow here today... Nice work, I look forward to more of your photos from your trip sorry I am days behind here. :)
Rob HAS seen it, Rose! Would not miss this... lol A Vc.. Not the ultimate (and pilots fave) that was the Mk9.. This mark, was the one the one that was found wanting when suddenly (VERY!) coming up against the Fw190.. Totally outclassed in every aspect.. Speed, Climb, Dive, Turn.. The Mk 9 was rushed in and found to be the most popular of them all... But this is an outstanding looking Spit! And in this time and age, who cares if it was or was not the best.. It STILL looks the best! Bar none! Brilliant work Bill.. Eyes recovered? Rob
The most beautiful flying machine ever built and i'm not at all biased well not very much! Superb shot.
really like your povs on planes, Bill!
