BLOCKED
My camera sits
On the shelf
Unused
Unhappy
Untouched
My eyes seem
To sleep
These days
In some kind
Of winter slumber
Nothing seems new
It all seems
The same
Almost boring
Definitely dull
No leaves
On the trees
Same old river
Flowers barely
Starting to bud
It's been a long
And lonely winter
Wet and cold
Gray and bleak
Just plain sad
Somewhere in
The distance though
I think I see
Light
At the end of the tunnel
The light beckons
And I walk
Camera in hand
Heart and soul
Ready for change

Ahhhh.....bring that camera to Hawaii. The glow and light is also here.. Aloha
This is a recognisable feeling..!
Beautiful expression of the doldrums, whether weather inflicted or otherwise.
nice!
Great job Marilyn! As you know, lucky me isn't feeling this way right now:) But I applaud your always first rate writing!!!
Superb writing Marilyn and nice picture, I guess many of us feel the winter blues like that...
Well written! I know the feeling ... it's been a while, but I certainly remember! Excellent work.
Beautiful writing Marilyn! I sure know how you feel! Has been snowing all day here, a good 3" so far and much more expected. I wanted to take some pictures today but to cold and just as your poem says, everything is bleak and gray and the same old stuff...Lol! I definitely have cabin fever!
Hmmm - I know the feeling all too well! Hang in there my friend - there is always light again after the darkness! :))
understands and relates warm hugs, Linda
Oh, I know that feeling so well! I feel a bit of a block here in Chicago. There's nothing that grabs me that much, despite posts I've been making. I think the block is a cloud-induced thing. Or maybe it's a case of the Winter Blahs...at any rate, it is a bad feeling and I'm glad that I have the photo-urge (and the writing urge) again. This is a great piece of writing! I missed it before and I don't know how...brain fart, I suppose. I have those quite often...in fact, I'm surprised when I don't have them.
