Description
The Large Grey Bridge and the Little Red Lighthouse.... George Washington Bridge - spanning the Hudson River between Manhattan and New Jersey. Apparently there is a children's story written about the bridge and the lighthouse! I have up to now been unable to lay me hands on a copy! I captured this image while on a boat tour arpound Manhattan in 2007!!! It is quite a sight to see!

When I was a child, I loved playing with Tinker Toys...I'd gotten a big container of them and laid my hands on some silver spraypaint. I'd painted ALL of them Silver, much to the annoyance of my mother, as I'd used the basement floor with newspaper that didn't quite catch all of the paint, so the basement floor had odd "newspaper shaped" stencils on it. Anyway, I think of silver tinker toys when I see the scaffolding around the superstructure of the bridge. It almost looks as if insects, robots, or robotic insects have gotten a hold of the bridge after deciding that it needs to be made more efficient. The little red lighthouse is such a wonderful, eye-grabbing contrast, and the whole picture is stunning. I love your POV, and well...I love bridges too. I'm always vaguely gleeful whenever I have to cross one, especially a spectacular one. This image brings all of that back and I love every moment of that feeling. This is superb work! But then, you always do superb work.
