What you see reflected in the beacon is an entire wall of glass panels ... the outside wall of the main gallery at the Museum of Flight.

Superb. What immediately catches my eye are all the parallel lines, both horizontal and vertical in the center of this grand old airfield beacon.

Before I get to the proper comment to this image, let me just say that I've dipped back into the Dune universe. I'm reading the long-awaited followup to Chapterhouse: Dune and it's unfortunate that Frank Herbert didn't live long enough to write it. His son and a collaborator have taken over the Duniverse and though they aren't up to Herbert's original, odd elegant style, the story is compelling. I mention this because this glass reminds me of a Guild Navigator's tank, only there is no orange Melange Gas coloring its interior. How fitting that this Third Stage Guild Navigator's tank would be found in a museum of flight! As for the image itself...WOW! I love the lines, the reflections, the distortions, the clarity that acts as a veil shimmering over different grades of clarity. As Frank Herbert would describe this, it's "details within details" and I love it!
