Description
A breeding pair of Blue Winged Teals. You can’t see the blue on the male (on the right) but the female is stretching her wing and you can see a little of the blue on her. The white crescent mark on both sides of the head, is only on the males. They are about 15 ½ inches (39cm) long. Taken at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, February 2nd.
For those that asked, the 50 yards between yesterday's turtles posting and the alligators post, the night before, is open water. Alligators can survive on four or five good meals a year. They don’t have to eat daily. They live a very sedentary life.

Great shot! wonderful information
CREATIVE ANGLE SHOT....WOWWWWWW
I like the branches in this, they really break the picture up in interesting ways, like a stained glass window. The birds are really well captured. The male looks smug and content. Great clarity. The colors are really nice too.
Beautiful Dana, excellent angle and reflexions, excellent photo and usual! *****
Wonderful shot!
I love how you framed them through the branches--a great shot!!
Beautiful capture.
And a great couple they are ! And much more photographer friendly :)

Great to see.
Excellent capture! Love the branches in the foreground.
oh this is wonderful, I can see all the wonderful colors of their feathers, a really fine shot!
I love how you framed them in the branches. Pretty ducks...and I love to watch birds stretching their wings. Beautiful shot!
a very nice scene! Wonderful picture!!!!
I think the male is a bit of a poser as he seems to have puffed out his chest. Great capture, especially in zoom!!!!
what a sweet couple.. :)
A wonderful shot Dana!
SPECTACULAR SHOT!!!!!!!
Cool framing of the teals makes this a great composition, Dana. The waterfowl on the left is standing on one leg.
Lovely capture of the ducks! Beautiful color! I love the branches! They add wonderful design to the image. Excellent reflections! I love the squiggly line reflections on the right.
Great capture! I think the male is looking straight at you. He is a plump little fellow and beautiful too. Those branches make a perfect frame. Wonderful shot, well done.
Super shot through the bush!
Wonderful!
Great capture of these two; they look much larger than the green-wings we have here!
Fantastic shot! I know it's just the angle, but when I first looked it looked as if the duck on the left was just half a duck. Gators! Lol!
Great shot.
Great composition with that dead tree.
