Description

Another in what I'll call my 'Model Memoirs' series. This is Amy. She was one of my favorite models. Tall, blonde, and quite a lovely lady. She had a natural talent for playing to the camera. This was a location shoot we did in downtown Kansas City. I found myself somewhat envious of the lamp post :-) Hope you enjoy! Thanks for all the previous comments, ratings and favs! More coming soon :-D

A VERY nice B & W Rod. Pretty model. Ever wonder what became of some of the people that came into your life so briefly and then went on their way? I think about things like that. Yah, I'm weird.

She is such a beauty, I like these kind of natural beauty in women, simple but striking. I don't blame you for writing how you feel about the lamp post. :-)

You're probably stunned that I'm nearly 8 years back in your gallery. But after talking about 'old posts' with Tara and Helle, I decided to go back here and fight off the cobwebs and look at your earlier posts. Wow, Rod! So many live model shots! So much old photography (and a great shot of Chicago from a plane, great light!) And I saw your earliest posts of G4, plus your very first chapter of TNA---man, it looked great even then! But with so much less detail than the current chapters---it seems naked, lol! You've refined your Poser work so much since then, but you still got visuals I couldn't get in 100 years. I'll leave more comments; but, for now: Great pose in this shot, and a wonderful, kind gaze; and I love the light on her dress, and the silky flow you got on it. The light post gives a staunch vertical against her sinewy backward bend...It's fine portraiture, as all these other old model-shots are, and cropped tightly and beautifully. And---it's film! It's soft, it's got natural grain, so much softer than digital grain (which is harsh). The shot whispers in a way digital never does. Very fine sensitive work. Man, your newer fans oughta come back here and see what you've done. You have a treasure trove back here.

As long as I'm on it: I went back to Bill's 6 Vietnam black and whites, and since you hadn't seen them, here's a link (speaking of military service): They're wonderful old film shots, and his people shots are truly rich and filled with humanity. Maybe you saw them, I don't know; but, for fans of Bill, seeing them just 'appear'---after pages of digital shots---was a revelation. Start with this link, and hit the "Newer" button (at the top of the page) 6 more times, and you'll see the whole series:

(And btw, there are cobwebs back here! I always tell people, clean up your old galleries! You got candy wrappers all over, mouse droppings, cockroaches who address me by name...there's a guy sleeping in the corner---from the Depression---no one's opened a window in 16 years, and a rat the size of Dumbo just asked me for 100 bucks...hey, I found Jimmy Hoffa on p. 2 of my gallery. A word to the wise. The Mob's not using the desert for body disposal anymore...)
