Description

(Bug Comic) This picks up after "The 13th Date." Bryan has decided it's time to leave. For one thing, he's losing his voice, probably from administering the Biology 101 final that morning and answering the same questions over and over: "Does this cover Chapter Seven?" (basic genetics, yes) "Does spelling count?" (yes). And his favorite: "Will this effect my final grade?" (um, yes). He's also figured out what is bothering him about Camo Guy. It's the fish pin. The Haida salmon pin is a gift often given by Mer parents to their sons as a "coming of age" present--Bryan has a belt buckle his father gave him last year as a graduation present when he got his undergraduate degree.(You can see it here Camo Guy's fish pin has been on the jacket long enough to wear the fabric, and the jacket doesn't fit well--it's too short. Even if Camo Guy bought the jacket from a thrift shop, the first owner would have taken off the pin first before getting rid of the jacket. So Bryan's plan was to buy Camo guy another beer, and slide out the front and head for the University coffeshop, full of people and open late, 2 blocks away down Pearl Street, rather than going home to his own place. Unfortunately Camo Guy chose to pull out a pack of cigarettes (Morleys, of course) so he's going to be heading out, too.

Great poses and of course great artwork! Situation seems to be getting a bit tense, sure hope Bryan's six sense is working overtime.

Quick, while he's smoking out front, sneak out the back! He already has a bad feeling about Camo guy so he needs to follow his instincts. Fabulous work you've done here! Your painting gets better with every scene.

this is great story telling. i love those stools, and the light on the bartender is perfect. and i think you've outdone yourself on camo guy's hair. the blues and pinks in the background balance the darker earth tones without being distracting or jarring. the whole composition works very well from an artistic and narrative perspective. i can't wait to see what will happen next.
