Description
Another Namibia upload...
This is a very busy image! In the background the Namib Dunes are visible and if you zoom, you will see the road going over the dune. If you zoom more, you might even see the two cars!! The next layer is the ocean of course and the foreground are these colorful rocks. It is a small stretch of beach just outside Swakopmund en route to Walvis Bay that has these perfectly grinded and polished oval shaped rocks in all shapes and colors. We spend quite a long time there but I really want to go back to this particular spot.
Incidently, when you drive from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay it is literally the Atlantic on your right and the mighty dunes of the Namib on your left. Most wonderful piece of road - except of course in a sand storm... I have seen the sand taking paint off a car on this very road...
Anyway - great weekend to you all!
Stay well!
Hugs
Carin xx

OK...wait. Hold on a minute. You have pebbles. You have the sea. You have dunes. OK...like...where the heck IS this place. OK...you said it's Namibia, and I'm aware of that country only because I saw Star Wars and know some Tunisian guys who have been there too, probably playing guitar and singing Kurt Cobain songs, like they were constantly doing when I met them...but WOW! You've got a complex, beautiful, and utterly beguiling image here. I can think of sand dunes...but NOT in the presence of an ocean AND pebbles--sand deserts are disting in and of themselves and they don't have pebbles nearby, at least not pretty wet ones, well...obviously they do...which just shows that I need to get out more; it's like Namibia was designed by a committee and I had no idea that the committee was meeting. Having said all of that, I must also point out that this is a stunning image! The African continent is a WEIRD place and you capture so much of its beauty and raw, untamed ambiance. I love this image! Its superb and yes, the composition (your part of it at least) is perfect...but now I'm gonna have to find that committee and ask them just how many ecologies they were actually trying to cram into one terrestrial space. I love this!
It will be no surprise to my father(Danapommet) that it is the beach I like in this image. Being a geology junkie and all... :~) Any close ups of the beach. Lol
