Description
Several times every winter, the storms generate what I call "monster surf". The weather page issues "severe weather alerts" telling people of 25-30 swells and huge waves. So, every year, I go in search of these monsters. The beach I usually go to isn't the best for actually seeing them, as if they were there, there would be no way I could even get to the parking lot; it would be flooded, with waves crashing over the road. I have an alternate plan, but so far haven't needed it.
Yesterday was one of those days, so off I went. The waves were bigger than usual, maybe 8-10 feet, but still not that monster I'm after. I walked a ways, but couldn't go very far, even those baby monsters had flooded the path I normally walk. This is the very spot I posted last week.
One of these days, I'll catch that monster!!

very nice!!
wonderful shot
lol and I do hope, the monster doesn't catch you... if I have a look at your shot and see what those baby monsters can do, there might be a possibility the big one is a catcher... so stay safe please...smile
Like mermaid I am concerned for your safety! That looks like the barn you show us there in the distance. It's a long run if the wave comes!
Neat shot, even without the elusive monster waves. Gotta be there at the right time for sure. As for elusive monsters, I'd love to snap some shots of the storied Loch Ness Monster, along with any of the other lake monsters reported from around the world.
Lovely shot of the beach.. What size waves are you after 50 - 100 ft? lol.. It always amuses me that people race to the beach when there is reports of giant waves or a possible tsunami. After seeing the damage Tsunami's have done even in recent years having seen how fast they move, to quick to out run, I have never had any desire to go anywhere near the beach... I head to the highest hill lol.. The worst part is if one did strike then all these people at the beaches would expect others to risk their lives to save them.. I say they went there they can save yourselves...
This is amazing! I love the water/sand/water/grass thing. Fantastic pov!
That's a lot of water flowing through what probably was a pasture not too long ago. Very interesting.
You sound like those Twister hunters... Just be careful out there Hun... don't let the monster catch YOU... :))
