That which burns twice as bright also burns twice as fast. When the reality of what it was to love an ambitious young bounty hunter came home to Ruusan, she found that she couldn't accept it. She walked away and took his heart with her.
In some ways, one might say she did him a favor. There has never been very much room for hearts in the most dangerous profession.

Thanks so much. One of these days, I'll actually sit down and write the entire thing out. Unfortunately, it will in all likelihood never be published. That's the tragedy of writing in Mr Lucas' universe, I'm afraid. But nothing says that one can't do it for the love of it and share bits as fan fiction. That's good enough, I think.
