Description
Hello and Happy New Year!
I am back to the photos I took in September and October. You may or may not remember, but I went to Minnesota for a vacation with my Mom. During this trip our friend took us to South Dakota. It seems as soon as we hit South Dakota, we started seeing signs and advertisements for The Corn Palace. Of course, this wasn't on our agenda, but being the adventurous women we are (lol) we had to stop. You get curious when you keep seeing road side signs advertising the Corn Palace.
The Corn Palace is in Mitchell, SD. The current Corn Palace was built in 1921 and was designed by the same architects used to design New York Radio City Music Hall. They decorate the outside with corn! If you are interested in reading about the Corn Palace you can find information "HERE".
I couldn't decide which of the photos I liked best so I decided to make a collage.
My Previous upload, "MoonStar".
Thanks for stopping by!
HUGS,
~Melinda~

anything to draw tourists.nice collage.welcome back
Was there years ago, quite a place... wonderful to see again.
I'm as corny as Kansas in August...... What's this? I was born in Scotland, South Dakota, many, many decades ago, and I do believe, without checking a map, that Mitchell is very close to my birth town. We left South Dakota when I was 2-1/2 year old, so I don't remember anything. Anyway, a remarkable and stunning sequence of photos in this neato collage, Melinda! And, you can call it a corn palace, but it sure looks like the Taj Mahal in Agra, India.
Amazing!
I don't know how I missed this, but I'm glad I saw it now. WOW! The mind boggles. What an idea! I love it. Corn as architecture--well, at least as stuff put ON architecture! WOW! This is a great collage and I love the color and the clarity. Naturally, I had to follow the link and find out more about this place. WOW! Oooh! But hey, if it's corn, how do they keep the crows and other corn eating birds away. What if popcorn is applied to the outer walls by mistake? What happens when it gets hot? Oh, never mind...I don't even know if popcorn is even poppable if it's still on the cob. WOW! All ramblings aside, this is amazing! What a collage. What a place!
