Description
I have captured this beautiful building in Swakopmund, Namibia. There is still a huge German population in Namibia and especially Swakopmund and Windhoek have many buildings in the old German style. I'm not sure what this building is but I liked it enough to photograph! (Can't believe I'm still uploading Namibia pictures from 2009 and I'm almost going again! Just 5 weeks to go!)
Thank you so very much for your wonderful comments and favs on my upload "What Will Matter" of yesterday! I truly appreciate your support!
Stay well!
Hugs, Carin xx

This is so beautiful! I have never been to Namibie before, but you are making me real anxious to go!
Very nice shot, and no power poles around, oh I see one street light now. I don't think it's reversed because you can read the "STO" part of the stop in white on the road. I'm assuming it is right-hand drive there, right? On the other side, I find it odd that they use a separate post for each of the three signs — here they would all be on one post.
Une vraie féérie...
Well done!
very beautiful building Carin ... excellent shot and postwork
I love the architecture on this building. You have really captured its full beauty.
Excellent image! :)
You captured this building beautifully Carin :)
A beauty indeed... Rhodesia seems to be an interesting country... ;)
Wonderful composition, looks superb, dear Carin !!! 5* Wish you all the best in 2010 !!! Hugs Karin:)
Beautiful building! It was the same in the Caribbean... Allot of the islands we went to had British architecture... You keep uploading! Loving it! Rob
This is a beautiful building and awesome looking sky. Well seen and captured. Dana
you've made this like an old nostalgic postcard, esp with the intense blues of the sky and the sharp separation from the big old beautiful building. A "keepsake". The building has some of the heavy Romanesque feel of Germany's older styles (those rounded arches originating in roman architecture) and those dormer-rooftops. It's so amazing that it sits almost on an island, no land around it, just raised on a platform with entry ramps. It's so isolated! And I love the 3 stop signs too. Another sensitive capture, Carin, and in your gallery I'm learning just how varied & amazing your part of the world is. It's so far away and so different from the cold climes of Chicago...
Good work!
Meisiekind I geuss you can say I am a boerseun living in Australia and from Swakopmund...I know that building very well. Great shot.
