Description
I was walking along the Eel River Levee a couple of weeks ago, had my camera and this bird flew by. I caught him at just the right time---for once!!

Nice... all it takes is the right "once"... :)
What a great shot! The angle is amazing.
Excellent capture! Love the soft, muted color in the distance.
Wow!!! Iseems that you was flying too looking the ground!!! Excellent capture and lovely green landscape!!! :)

How great to be above it!
great capture my friend, look at the wing span on this bird. great timing
Wonderful catch Marilyn! Yeah - flying birds are a difficult subject but you did so well! Lovely image! :)
Wow! Great reflexes - this is superb. The gull is perfectly placed and "posed". Well done.
I have wasted so many shots trying to get a decent shot of a gull on the wing and never come anywhere near something this good.
wonderful capture soars warm hugs, Linda
He sure did add to the composition. Way to go!!! Welcome to "birdland". Didn't they used to play jazz there?
well caught but a tern not a gull.
oh to be able to fly like this bird
yes, a dramatic angle, nice space around it with a big soaring valley below...another of your explorations of water & land and the infinite. I guess it really does take time & endurance to find a bird this close & clearly. I never thought about it, but I can see you have to go back & back and just wait. It's nice that you caught the bird from above, we can see it from a bird's-eye view (no pun) and get a sense of the sweep it sees everyday. (Wouldn't it be nice if birds had cameras?) Another fine shot of the infinite from you, Marilyn, your eye always resonates with the vastness. And with the new year, you seem to be capturing with heart & soul it everyday...
Oooo! Great all the way around!!
wonderful shot. you got the dof here too. look like he is flying

I think that it is a super in flight shot. Very well caught. Dana
