Description
I was looking thru some of my old foto files and found this one. It was Easter Sunday, walking along the Arcata, Ca, marsh. These are godwits--a common shore bird in this area. There's even a weekend celebration in the spring called Godwit Days--anything for a party!!

Wonder what type of music they like at their party? Cool shot Marilyn...like the ripples:)
Fabulous! A shot to die for!!!
Stunning image Marilyn! I love the light in the middle! Well done! :)
All ages are in on the fun. Cool capture of the group. ;-)
Excellent! The light in this one is wonderfully soft.
Marbled Godwits are supposed to be all around Florida and in 9 plus years, I still have not seen a single one. So a Super capture on your part and a whole flock at that. :>) Dana
The reflections make it look as though there are more, great shot!!!!
Lovely capture is this Marilyn so they have a party too, well to answer Bill question I would say they have to play the bird dance lol..

Wow, look at those long bills! I've never seen these before; great shot!
Wow sounds like Wisconsin, anything for a party. We have Sawdust Days. Great shot of all these feathered friends.
Beautiful color and light! I like the pair that is 2/3 way down in the middle. It looks like they are about to start fencing. Excellent capture!
wonderful capture smiles warm hugs, Linda
I love birds when they flock together like this. Of course, knowing birds, when I read the title to this piece, I thought: Birds of a feather poop together. My mind goes off in weird directions at times. What I really like about massed birds like this is the fact that this image looks like you stumbled across a convention attended by commas and apostrophes...for some reason they DO look like punctuation marks to me. I love it when images trigger that kind of association because they're so engaging. What a wonderful photo!
