Description
One of the Galleries I visit belongs to Chris, aka efron_241. There was was a little squirrel that would appear in many of his creations, and when Squirrel would be missing too long, many of us would ask "where's Squirrel?". Now Chris has started his gallery fresh, and I've asked what has happened with Squirrel? Chris has told me that Squirrel has retired. The other day I looked out my kitchen window, and there was Squirrel, looking in at me! I do believe Squirrel has emigrated to our country! I think his cousin wrote him a letter that there is a family who puts food out for not only the birds, but the squirrels also, and I think that cousin sent pictures of all the fat squirrels that come for dinner at this yard. Squirrel decided to move here for his retirement!
So Chris, don't look for Squirrel in your run-time, he is living in my backyard now, happy, fat, and not having to work at all for his food, LOL!
Photo taken last winter just before Christams 2008, cropped, framed, initialed in PSP.
I so hope everyone had a wonderful and joyous Christmas.
I want to thank you all for the support you've shown me over the past years, for all the wonderful comments, and for the faves. You've all been so encouraging, and I've learned so much from you all, both in photography and in fractals. I'm not sure if I will post again before the New Year, so I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year too. I hope you all have a wonderful celebration, and especially a safe one.

Oh Rita this is one of the most delightful shots I have seen today so far. He is adorable and looks really comfy sitting in his snow filled plant munching on food. Thank YOU for your ingenious gallery, full of interest and talent, my life is so much richer now you are my friend, and I wish you a Peaceful and Happy New Year, that goes for your family and your adorable pets too. warm New Year hugs Jane xx
What an adorable photo. I love how you caught Squirrel enjoying a meal. The colors from the tree and berries and snow are exceptional. I also love how you treated this photo, with all the white spaces surrounding the subject matter. It's a fantastic image and I hope you and yours have a happy, healthy and inspired New Year.
That is just too cute. Awesome.

Awwww, that is so adorable! Great picture!
Fun photo, animal is cute.
What an awesome capture. I love that cute little face. :o) May your New Year be blessed and creative! :o)
I just luuuuuv this photo; and your story just adds to it all. (Yes, retired animals have a hotline, they know the good restaurants, museums, cafes and clubs. They get around...) Wonderful detail on the squirrel, and wonderful muted hues because it's in shadow; yet it really shoots forth through the shade. I love that you caught the snow on its fur, the sheen in its eyes, and an almost flame-like quality to its paws. And it's framed with berries & leaves as if you set it up for a studio shot. (That'd be one patient squirrel...) And the piece opens up to the light on the right. Just beautiful Rita, I love it. I've only been stopping at one image per gallery the last 2 days, so I could actually get everyone in---I haven't done that in months! But I'll return to you more, after the 1st. Yet I couldn't have chosen a more fitting image: It's scintillating, the detail is wonderful. you caught the spirit of the squirrel (retired and buying land on your property), and it's canopied & protected by nature all around it. A loving caring image, and I wish you & all your loved ones a wonderful New Year & hope that 2010 is bursting will all kinds of joy! And thanks for your endlessly wonderful comments: I hope to give you the same as a new year comes. Have a wonderful New Years Eve!
Precious capture! Happy New Year Rita!
Fabulous!!!!! Happy New Year to you!
What a terrific photo....perfect...and he beautifully nested himself in the ornamentals! They're such cute little devil's I'm sure I'd be like my mom and have them lined up at the back door begging for nuts....if I didn't live so far out of town that we have coyotes. Zero squirrels. Thanks for stopping by my gallery and spurring me on to visit...I'd been thinking of you just yesterday. I'm glad I didn't miss seeing these gems...and there's one or two more...
That is a fantastic shot! My daughter has not stopped laughing since she saw this image. That is one adorably fat critter! A fantastic shot indeed!
I love it.
A beautiful fat squirrel, looks like you're feeding him well

Fabulous capture, what a cute little guy!
Haha great stuff, I love those wiley little bastards... except when they decide to dart IN FRONT of my car as I approach. It's like they have the reverse of survival skills!
This is such a cute little critter and framed so perfectly! Lovely image :O) Great for a Christmas card.
