Description
144 Nakajima B5N torpedo planes were used in the attack on Pearl Harbor. The B5N’s were carrying Type 91 torpedoes with special wooden stabilizers designed to break away in the water. The modification helped the torpedo maintain horizontal attitude in the shallow 40 foot depth.
