I have no idea what this is, other than a shroom of a different sort! Well...a fungus anyway. And it looks like its growing in something that you're supposed to drink. When I lived in Prague, I knew this woman from Ukraine, and she would brew tea, and then pour it over this enormous lump of live yeast or something that looked like an internal organ. It would consume the sugar in the tea, and grow, and occasionally get rather furry on top. Apparently it's good for the stomach, and it tastes a bit like...well...beer-flavored tea. Yeah...I drank a lot of that stuff: every morning I'd drink at least two mugs of it. I don't think this is the same growth though, Marushka's brew never got that really pretty blue afro...and she'd skim the fuzzy bits off because apparently they weren't the part you were supposed to drink. This is a fascinating photograph, and I have no idea what this is, unless it is something that you are supposed to drink...It looks like it's consuming some kind of brew, because the water-proof spore structures are holding a drop of brown liquid that looks like beer, tea, or apple cider. At any rate, this is fascinating. It's compelling and looks a little bit like organic jewelry.
It's a kind of mold fungus, I guess. Excellent shot with fascinating details.
