Description
Toxic walked into the main room of the Hot-Springs inn and said, "Everyone is to bed except me and you, Jin and...hello?"
Jin and Neblae sat on a divan across from a tall, familiar looking man.She said, "Hiya, Caliph Agrafah, who's this well dressed feller?"
Agrafah said, "This 'feller' is the Celestial Father of the Curch of the Holy Child, Toshi Balak. Toshi, this is the woman, I told you of, Toxic."
Jin looked over at Toxic and said, "He was just about to say why he needed our help and sought us out here."
Toshi nodded gravely. "I and almost everyone else on this world saw your battle with the dragon that was the transformed FALSE Madjulla. I believe you are the REAL Madjulla who will one day give birth to a god that will save this world, and smite down the dragon. You MUST destroy the false Madjulla! Our faith is in disarray with her claim of divinity. Her power and ability is beyond measure! Only YOU have the might to destroy her and her minions of evil before they wreck the world!"
Jin watched Toxic as she thought. Toxic burst out laughing and said,"No."
Toshi looked alarmed and asked, "Why not? She already tried to kill you. You must strike her down! Millions of faithful people world wide are counting on you!"
Toxic shook her head and stated, "I am Toxic, NOT the Madjulla! You got the wrong girl."
Neblae stood up and said, "You wanted TOXIC to be your...your HOLY HIT WOMAN? I don't think so. She isn't a true blue killer without feeling or remorse. She isn't going to croak someone because you want the Madjulla sliced up!"
Toshi frowned and snapped, "Be silent, you heretic! What do you know anything? I have seen that woman's evil first hand! The piles of bodies and the shattered families! I have it on good authority that your friend Neon can back up what I say!"
Toxic held up a hand and said loudly, "Enough! If bad Madjulla woman attacks again, I won't hold back. I didn't say I wouldn't kill her, I said you got the wrong woman. I had Rose tell me the quotes from the Holy book about the Madjulla. I am NOT her."
Toshi looked at her and asked, "Why do you say this? The Majulla is supposed to descend from the heavens with skin of rainbow hue and with the sword of life in her right hand, and her scythe of death in her left, smite the wicked and raise the dead. She is to give birth to the god that will heal this world and restore it to it's original state of divine bliss."
Toxic bounced on her toes and asked, "Whazzat god baby look like again?" Jin got ready to move. Toxic was overly excited and that was NEVER a good sign.
Toshi said, "According to prophesy--the Madjulla was described in a few passages, with weapons of steel and silver, but almost nothing of the god of rebirth is given, other than his weapons were forged from light and fire."
Toxic bobbled her head and grinned. "You smell like my daddy. Are you his brother? You also stink of fear and hate, and blood. YOU are a very bad man. Fire and light? Like THIS?"
Toxic manifested her sword of power. The blade of strong nuclear force snapped into sight with a burst of withering heat in the room. Toxic seemed to grow taller and more fearsome. There seemed something alien and terrible in her eyes, this time.
Despite himself, Toshi fell back with a cry of terror and lifted his arms to protect himself.
Toxic yelled quickly, "BAD PEOPLE SAY 'WHAT'!"
Toshi gasped out, "What?"
Toxic's sword went out and she started laughing. Neblae and Jin joined in. Agrafah smiled and said, "Toshi, you HAVE upset my guests. I'd like to ask you to please leave. Friendship has it limits, and you have crossed the line by throwing religion at people."
Toshi was shaking when he bowed, apologized and almost ran from the room.
Agrafah asked her, "Toxic... are you a god?"
Toxic broke up laughing again. She finally ran down and said, "Naw. I'm just Toxic. Don't bite me. You'll die."
Jin didn't laugh.

This is a very good episode, Joel. Exciting, concise and opening all kinds of interesting questions. I love Toxic's encounter with Toshi. His words and actions fit so well with powerful leaders of a church. I don't doubt their conviction, but often power and conformity are their major goals. Off on a slight digression. There is a very large sign near my mother's house which says, "POWER CHURCH... REAL Church, REAL People, Serving a REAL GOD!" I think people who would find that sign inviting, would also be swayed by Toshi. I love Toxic's response to him. The simple "No" after his long impassioned speech. She is new to many things, but she is not easily swayed by others. An admirable trait. Also very interesting is Jin's response. She sees trouble ahead. Is it in the powers that Toxic is exhibiting or in the reactions and interpretations of others to them or both? Really excellent read! I only have one very small quibble with the room. I find the couch in the foreground too blank. Either some textured fabric or a solid print might help. (A solid print is a quilters term, which means a print fabric where the color variation is so subdued that it almost looks like a solid.) Other than that, great image! Love the poses and expressions! Neblae looks closed off and irritated, Jin quiet and watchful, Toxic on edge and dangerous, Toshi aware he's way over his head and Agrafah ready to throw him out. I like the composition of the people. The ladies close together, Agrafah near by and Toshi across the room. It fits how I would expect them to group in the situation. Wonderful job on this one!!!
Excellent work
Very nice work!
Excellent image and story. I always find it amazing how people in power try to use happening's to sway people to follow and not question. I have always found the comparison of people and sheep an amazing comparison.
Fantastic scene and story, excellent work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
