Description

I watched this surfer for quite a while. He was in no hurry to catch the next wave. He just floated in and around the pier posts, watching and waiting. zoom--though you might get wet!!

He looks dangerously close to the pier if a wave does come!

Patience. Surfers have a lot of that when it comes to waiting for the right wave. I think they are truly creatures of the sea, driven by urges us land lubbers just don't get. I love this image and it very obviously incorporates at least three of your favorite things...the sea, that pier, and morning light. I recognize those pilings and I hope to see them in person. I'm in a wistful mood and this image really relaxes me even though it's nothing like the sphinx picture I'd posted. There's something in the mood of this that reminds me of Prague. (Yeah, I miss it there, and it's there that I first discovered your gallery.) I think it's the water, the lone guy, the sunlight, more implied than actually seen, even though you DO see it on the pilings and on the water. I remember watching fishermen on the Vltava river, and it looked a lot like this...different, but the mood was the same...that aquatic patience. This is gorgeous work and I'm glad to see it now.

I just spent an hour in the pool and can therefore so relate to this guy! I didn't have waves though! :)

My eye is drawn to the surfer first out of curiosity...what is he doing? But then to the HUGE pilings. I like the way the water is swirling around each... Well done.

Behaving somewhat like a ninja assassin, the surfer waits for the ideal moment to negotiate the next appropriate wave in his quest for complete bliss. Another masterpiece of clarity, lighting and textures to include in your vast ocean folio, Maz.
