Description
This is for dear friends in far-away places: half way across the country or half way around the world, too far is just too far. I patiently await transporter technology (or that train leaving from platform 8) and as soon as they figure it out, I'll be right there.
... and for those of you who are sick of seeing my Chicago pictures, here's a little break for you, just so you know I haven't forgotten how to do flowers!
... and for me ... because it's my favorite color ... and it's good to make beautiful art just because I feel like it.

This is the closest thing to 3D I've seen lately! And I looked it over with a fine tooth comb (heh,heh)...great job!!! I love what appears to be back lighting. This is REALLY impressive. How did you do the little furry fringe on the edge of the leaf? Just showing you how close I looked...you don't have to answer that:)

Loved bill's comment, always great to see what he sees. Thanks from everyone who knows you long distance, and the feeling is mutual. And I know there are people all over this world who you know & wish you could transport yourself too. A touching call to all of them. The flower is simple & eloquent, and I too love the backlighting (and your whole treatment of the background). A simple single flower and a lot of expression, and fine light modulating in and out down through the stem. And even the fuzz on the leaves is well done (with the light on the center one). And you've separated the upper petals with a line of shadow too; well done. You know, when people like your work, I don't think it matters what subject material you put up: What they love is the vision you bring to it all. So it's fine that you do chicago a lot, then moose ridge, than the trifecta portraits, and then this. It's all new Tara's, and that's wonderful as it is. Lovely feelings, lovely piece. And a nice follow up to your train journey piece (which I'm going to next...)
