Description
This finch is seen looking at the empty suet slot. Some sly thief made off with the entire block of suet during the night or early morning. Note the bottom bar is even pulled off, leading me to think a squirrel or maybe a racoon got it.
This was a quick point and shoot operation on Nov 16, 2009.

Excellent and beautiful shot! Cece!
Aww...poor birdie...we had some sneaky visitor snatching our feeders at night. Last time they took the whole log my kids made and set out. lol
Oh Bill, this is marvelous! What a cute birdie and the snow is just gorgeous! Wish we had it here! :)
wonderful picture!!!!! so many snow!!!! We have had + 16°C (+60.8°F )today!!!!! Not normal for this season!
I echo Carin, yet it must be rather cold! Cheers, Clive
Excellent shot. I think he's wondering why you're playing with a camera instead of refilling the feeder. :)
Great shot Bill! Birdy; "Bad enough it's cold and snowing, now this!" ;D
Brr! We still have 'Last sunbathe' here! Dastardly deed, in my opinion!
Excellent shot of this beautiful bird. Perfect!!!
Excellent and beautiful shot
I sure hope there is another cafe near by! Hate to show up for breakfast and find out the place has run out of food to serve. LOL Outstanding shot. Boy, lots of snow!
beautiful!
had been wondering whether you got snow from that big low pressure system. We still haven't had a freeze. Raccoons around our house live in the storm sewers and scamper on our roof in the early hour. Strong critters.
what a cute shot here
Love this shot.
Bless him, knowing you though Bill there will be more!!!! Not snow already????
BEAUTY...NO SNOW HERE YET...AND NICE 15C - 60F
oh you already have snow? Wonderful, Bill, here it's still to warm for November, in the Rhinevalley up to 21 Celsius (70 Fahrenheit), which is unusual for this time...
awesome quick and point shot, it's great ...poor finch!
Cool and crisp capture of the bird house in this shot of your first snow, Bill! Of course, in contrast, we're still dry, sunny, and in the low 70s fahrenheit here in Southern California. Could that finch (or sparrow, to me) be an insurance agent or police officer checking out the theft?
Someone must have been very hungry but it is annoying eh! Fancy you having snow all ready, it seems funny when I'm busy watering the garden as it is hot here. This is a lovely capture of this little finch.
great shot ..but you had to say that 4 letter word!!
Such a delightful image! A most cute and sweet little finch, though I feel so sorry for him out in the freezing cold... I do hope he gets in there and stays warm :) A lovely scene, the essence of the season! :)
Soooo Cool!!! Awesome job :)
Good shot! My first thought was a racoon.
Closed for the season! :>) Poor finch needs that suet to survive the winter. Great catch. Dana
He looks throoughly disgusted by the discovery. I can just hear him griping! Last Friday we had rain mixed with snow, then hail, thunder and lightning, then snow, then it all went away. It was only in my general neighborhood, since I live smack in the middle of the convergence zone.
Lovely Bill. I especially liked seeing this because it is roasting hot around these parts!
marvelous capture!!
Brrrrrrrr real cool shot,
