Description
Captured 10/18/09, at the beautiful Orchid Show held in the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California.
Be sure and view it full size.
This is the second orchid show I attended this month, the first one down in beautiful Encinitas, California on October 3.
I've been saving this foto just for this momentous occasion. Normally I post a rose at each century mark, but now, with this new stash of lovely orchid shots, this is the wave of the future.
I learned a lot from my photo venture down in Encinitas; the main lesson being to always use a tripod when taking indoor flower pictures, especially when your flash makes a mess of things. I had to dump scores of Encinitas fotos because of poor flash and shutter sychronization, bad focus and camera shake. With the Huntington tripod shots, I dumped no more than six, mainly due to bad focus.
And, yes, I also took pictures of people taking pictures of the orchids. Gotta have some ninja fun, you know!
Anyway, with the tons/tonnes of orchid pictures from the two shows, I've got a ton/tonne of postwork yet to do.
Ta-ta, and thankx for clicking on.

Congratulations on this big occasion, Harry!! This orchid is simply stunning, and all your hard work paid of well. Gorgeous!!
Wonderful colors and fantastic details. A pleasure for the eyes!
Congrats on #1200 Harry!!! WOW - Will I ever get there? Fantastic orchids with gorgeous detail! Well done! :)
Oh my goodness, 1200 images...awesome and a HUGE congratulations to you! LOVE this awesomely beautiful flower...stunning.
Delicious. Do people eat orchids now and then? Only kidding...these two blooms are gorgeous. Will look forward to many more. Could you take a monopod rather than a tripod...better for a crowded show atmosphere and you can use it as a walking stick. I bought one (monopod) but haven't used it yet. Will take it on hikes in the future to waterfalls, lakes, etc. AND CONGRATS ON #1200!
Congrats Harry!! That is a momentous reason for these lovely orchids!! Hmmm...They do look delicious don't they? Why all the postwork? Just show us the pics!

Congrats on 1200! Beautiful orchids and capture. They really stand out from the green background. Lovely color and detail!
Most wonderful capture to 'celebrate' your milestone of 1200. I am not going nowhere without my tripod even if it is a pain a back to carry a thing. Worth a stragle.
