Description
The ocean--I can't get enough of it. I ride my bike nearly every day down to the beach and just sit. It's meditative, it clears my mind and my soul. On this day, it was nearly sunset and there were still people in the water. This surfer was just watching and waiting and the water had this incredible silver look to it. I love how the only color is on his body.

This type of scene makes me ask myself, why don't I live near the ocean? Well done!
I know what you mean Marilyn. The ocean is the first thing I look at when I get up and the last when I go to bed besides my beautiful wife. Great shot
When you were in Chicago, there is this one moment when you were at the lakefront, and it was just you and the lake!!! THAT was a cool scene (and one of the ninja photographers captured it) and I get the impression you were in that zone here, only you had real and non-imported sand nearby...there's a whole vibe to your oceanic shots (Lake Michigan is actually a freshwater sea) which makes me think you must be a reincarnated Ondine or other water elemental, or something. Anyway, enough of my ramble...this is a great shot. I love the action of the waves and the spark of color and contrasting richness in the surfer's flesh. The sea foam is good too...really perfectly caught. He's kinda cute too. Fantastic work!
Excellent capture i love the ocean i walk along the beach every morning i can get lost in thought superb work hugs lou x
Super ocean shot Marilyn so nice to spend your day there, Love the surfer waiting for that big one to finish the day off.. Well captured..
Oh wow - what perfection - from the silvery sheen of the water to the body of the surfer! So weel seen and captured Marilyn! I REALLY miss you and we need to catch up!!! When will you be home??
A great shot!
The cleansing of mind and soul.... Dave has that same feeling when he's down the beach...so he tells me..... Nice capture. Aloha
excellent!
Cool shot!
Fantastic shot, his intent posture is wonderful...
You know what it is I feel for the water - but I feel that for all bodies of water from the trickle of a small stream to the pounding of the giant ocean breakers. Its a good thing I have such a fascination with water since I also have that same feeling about fire... just in case I get too fascinated with fire, I can always rely on water to temper the situation. LOL Lovely shot and the effect of the frothing waves is wonderful.
ah the sea...what better place?
Awesome shot.....Did he ever catch a wave???? Really cool lighting.
The love of the ocean is genetic; it's where our earliest ancestors came crawling out of and onto to the land. You can take the individual out of the ocean, but you can't take the ocean out of the individual. But I digress. Stellar shot of the surfer, resting while surveying his grand milieu, before taking it on again.
Wowwwww!!! Fabulous image. Hematite water ... who knew?
nice capture, nice body :-)
