Description
Today's upload takes us back to the National WWI Museum in Kansas City. I have employed a High Contrast Blue Filter for this coming out of the shadows view.
This is a French built FT17 light tank. It was built by Louis Renault...who's company is known today for building French cars and trucks.
By the war's end in November 1918, 3,177 were delivered to the French Army, 514 to the American Expeditionary Forces and three to the Italian Army.
Please ZOOM for best effect.
Bill:)
Armament: One 37mm main gun and one 7.62mm Hotchkiss machinegun.
Crew: Two

What a machine, looks quite eerie!!! Amazing to know the company name is still about today!!!!!
You're getting quite good at these!
Gosh! i can see where they got the idea for the Daleks!
Very nice photography.

Thats a very nice effect Bill.. I like that one.. It works well... Great work.. Quite advanced for the time.. At least in shape! Rob.

great shootin.. i was just at that museum awhile back. very interesting...
Keen presentation of image and write-up.
I love what you've done to this!!
Very nice~
I do think the filter was most perfect, as you captured the essence of this tank! Amazing to think back at how advanced this was for the time it was created, and how much destructive potential this had..... Historical and most intriguing artwork! Great textures and shadows as well! I really like the dramatic mood created here, especially dealing with this dark subject!
stunning capture!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great. It makes me smile as I can imagine the policeman from Allo Allo driving it!!!! Officer Crabtree trying to speak French!!!!
Awesome shot and lighting. :)
When I read the title I thought of bayonets. Stellar POV, light and shadow, and filter use in this presentation, Bill! This antiquated tank is so representive of the ones I see in old World War I documentaries and movies.
Fantastic presentation it works so well.
Great work Bill, very well presented. Adds to the age of the machine. Cheers, Clive
Your treatment of this old war wagon is perfect, gives it an almost threatening look--which is should!!
The FT17 is the true grandpa of all modern tanks and a real battlefield asset in 1918. (But an old tanker like you would know that.) The French even threw a few of these at the Germans in 1940 with predictably sad results.
That filter really makes this image pop! Kudos.
Excellent work. Definitely the essence of cold steel here. The blue works great!
Great shot and information Bill. When I was a kid we had a b&w photo of one of these tanks (or a similar looking one). I don't know where it came from, I think one of my father's uncles had taken it during the Great War!
