Description
At first glance these two small freighters, moored in Papeete Harbor, seemed like they are no longer being used. But looking closely I saw laundry hung up to dry on the smaller freighter and the zodiak on the larger one looks to be in pretty good condition. The freighters themselves don't look too bad either, except for the rust around the waterline.
These two ships really don't look any different than hundreds of other small freighters that supply small coastal towns around the globe with goods.
This picture was taken on 14 August 2009.

schöne Schiffe - sehr schönes Foto!!!!
gorgeous ships.... i bet travel on one of them would be adventurous.
@timtripp. I have always contemplated doing it, but except for the North Atlantic crossing on freighters in 1969 I have done nothing else.
Nice capture! While slightly rusty, I bet they're still very seaworthy!
I LOVE ALL PORT VIEW... PORT = LIFE

Very interesting, and at first I thought it was my home port of Poole!
fantastic shot
fantastic capture!!!
great little ships these coasters.
totally cool!!!
fascinating shot, Sig, especially with this hurly burly of masts
At first I thought it was an older photo. I'm happy they are still in use. Excellent shot, I love the composition and lighting.
All that oxidation can sure take its toll over time. I would not be surprised if some spots on the hull are in bad need of patching.
If only those ships could talk.....
I forget Sig...where were you on the 14th of August (Alaska)? I notice the bilge pumps working on the South Korean vessel...bet the Panamaian flagged vessel is pumping too. Great detail as usual in your very large format.
