Description
This is the view I saw most often in Chicago. Not the building, not the trees, but Mark and Marilyn's backs! They both have longer legs than I do and are fast walkers anyway, and of course I was taking more photographs, so every block or two I would have to catch up.
Sometimes they would actually notice I was missing, and they'd wait for me!
The three of us walked miles and miles that Friday morning. Chip ended up having to work, so he and Corey came up later in the afternoon.
For those of you who know Chicago and would like to know sort of where this is, I can only tell you this: Our hotel was across the street from the Hancock building, and we had left there and were headed east toward the lake. When we got to the end of this street, Navy Pier was three or four blocks to our right.

Heck of a note to be looking at someone's backside almost the entire time on a trip... It does sound like you had a great time and I look forward to seeing more pictures of your trip!
LOL they were miles ahead of all of us Saturday. Great shot and so true LOL. It's ok though you got to love them!
LOL at Cheri--and what a great shot. I hope that's not my best side. I remember this part of town, those old buildings and homes, the trees, everything about it. The whole trip was just fantastic!!
very colorful wonderful capture warm hugs that smile, Linda Kaye
Your pictures are a complete eye-opener for me! I have never been to Chicago, and my imaginary Chicago was very, very wrong! I dislike the Ontario climate, too close to the Great Lakes and all that humidity, and I imagined Chicago was much the same, but I also wrongly imagined an ugliness, from the car-manufacturing plants everywhere..... I have never been so pleased to be wrong! This shot is lovely.....
A nice shady sidewalk. We did a lot of walking while I was in Philadelphia after my Alaska trip and many sidewalks looked just like this one. I also lagged behind for the same reason you did. Nice capture!
Lots of mature trees in this one....looks a a very pleasant place to stroll..
A nice urban scene well captured.
LOL... probably their best side eh??? straight face Wonderful street view Tara! I must say, I am enjoying every single Chicago upload to the fullest!!!! :)
Great shot! Looks like a very pretty place...
It sounds like you all had such great fun, wonderful shots have come out of your trip, superb
This tells such a story! I should have been right there, behind, with you. Even in your photo I can see things I'd have to have got..like the shodows of those curly bits in the railings.
The good thing is you got to walk outside in the sun and the shade. I think the most we walked in June was maybe two blocks from the parking garage to the Sears Tower. Oh, and of course, seemingly miles around inside the Museum of Science and Industry. Since you've said you spent almost no time inside on this trip, sounds like art museums, etc. will have to wait for another time. But, hey..., lots of the year you'd be freezing outside so it sounds like you all put your empahsis on the right things...walking, talking, joking and eating:)
Shadows and light. Wonderful! Clive
wonderful picture!
only been at the airport. superb cityscape
so much peaceful
It is such a joy, kind of walking with you in Chicago, by looking at these wonderful shots from yout trip together :-))) Thank you for sharing them :-)
super place
wonderful looking. what? no mob car going by shooting guns at you and all. of couse you would have shot them with your camera.
I know that feeling too when I go anywhere as I'm always stopping to look at things. A lovely leafy street.
awww the use of long legs ...maybe thats why my husband is always complaining?? lol
This rocks! It's funny, but Marilyn actually walks faster than Corey and that takes some doing, but the funny thing is she does it while strolling!!!! But then, I walk pretty fast too. This is an impressive shot and I love the POV. Marilyn and Mark look so involved in their surroundings though they were probably talking about something NON-Chicago. They fit in so perfectly! Great composition here and I can feel the mood of it, which is a good thing. Great work!
nice place !
Advertising someones backside, huh? Are you sure they'd want this! lol... This shot, aside from the backsides..., reminds me various films I've seen over time... Don't ask for title.. Just films! But then.. I'm British! Lol.... Rob
Nice place for a walk and conversation I see...
Cool, nice area, excellent capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen it all now - LOL - and I know exactly 'what ya talking 'bout Willis' and 7 years later ... fun, fun, fun was had by all ! Cheers BB
