Description
Looks lonely but this single, mainline freight track keeps fairly busy. At least once an hour you'd be dead if you didn't budge from this POV:-)

Superb shot !
Superb POV, DOF, perspective and clarity, Bill! Love the B&W mode. Definitely reminds me of the Great Depression of the 1930s, when down-on-their-luck transients would jump on boxcars to go west.
superlative work! splendid BW i like the mood!
It's a long walk. Nicely done!
♪♪ Take the long way home... ;-) Superb shot and ride
The B/W treatment really does this justice...
tracks always makes for fotogenic material. reminds me of the song--- going to Kansas City, going to stand on Fourth street and vine or is that Hollywood?
VERY cool shot and the black and white makes the picture... Atchison? Where ever, masterfully done, my friend! Rob.
great pov and the b & w really sets the mood
Perfect POV B&W a good choice here.
Awesome use of defining lines, great POV. wonderful shot.

Love the photo Bill...A fantastic composition...
Wait! No, Bill! It'll get better! It will. It WILL! Excellent gritty B&W. We have a huge collection of RR calendars. Nothing like this in all those pages. You have an amazing eye for the zones.
awesome capture!
very nice one bill
Really beautiful!!
Lovely, lonely shot. It looks great in B&W. Excellent capture!
This is fantastic Bill. The monochrome works perfectly and actually reminds me of the Stephen King novel "The Body" AKA "Stand By Me".
Love it! Looks fantastic in b&w!
Superb perpective, composition and postwork.
I'm only doing a piece in each gallery right now, but I'll be back for a longer session soon...I chose this for its beautiful use of b&w—a not-totally lost art, thank god, and one which you do beautifully—for the wonderful but muted light, for the softening in the background trees to where they look a little like an old print, for the perspective/pov—I suppose tracks pretty much 'give' photographers the pov, but really capturing the perspective so it feels 'new' is an art, and this felt new the minute I saw it. And for the slight print texture of the stones & sky, as if we're looking at a photograph printed on a very old paper. Beautiful work; and a wonderful surprise to remember that this is here & now (!). And yes, I know how tracks, without trains, can be some of the most peaceful places on earth...ao much so that when the train approaches, we're shaken out of a deep, deep dream. Beautiful work bill. I'll be back soon for more...
