A lonely tree
Sits atop the hill.
It's bare branches
Reach to the stars above.
It sways with the wind,
Roots holding firm.
The tree is scarred and black
From years of wear and tear.
It's seen many a war,
Scores of horror and devastation.
But still it stands
Strong and fearless as ever.
It stands on, a symbol,
Of bravery and courage.
Encouraging men to live
With truth in mind,
Love in their hearts,
And freedom in their souls.
