Description
The Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek, South Africa, is dedicated to the cultural influences that Huguenots have brought to the Cape Colony (and ultimately the whole of South Africa) after their immigration during the 17th and 18th centuries.
The monument was designed by J.C. Jongens, completed in 1945 and inaugurated by Dr. A.J van der Merwe on April 17th 1948.

Franschhoek is a favorite breakfast run venue for guys on their motorcycles - as it was mine. My two hikers and I met up with a friend and after the mist lifted at 11am the children and I explored the monument. Camera in hand for a change!
Enjoy the view,
Clive

These French Protestants came to America during the same time. They paid dearly for their beliefs and earned much admiration in the process.
