Without reading, only by looking, I knew this had to be Mendo. It has a look and a feel all its own. One of my all time favorite places to sit and do nothing but sit. LOL Stellar shot.

You know, Mark, if I knew you were taking a picture just then I'd have smiled. Okay, you might not have seen it ... but you'd have felt it. I really like the composition. His placement is perfect, framed so well by the trees that, small as he is in the overall scene, the eye accepts Him as the main subject. His placement below the horizon line allows the viewer to better imagine his point of view. Envision the perspective with the horizon below him and it is not as powerful an image. + we would lose him against the sky; the water contrasts with his clothing firmly and helps to focus our attention. I'd love to see this as a cover of an Alan Watts reprint. Perfect! Terry

It is a beautiful coastline. Just north of Mendo. along the "Lost Coast" is even better for the seclusion.
