Description
This is a shot of a Great Blue Heron but I didn't notice his neck until I started the edit process. It looks like he turned his head all the way around and forgot to turn it back straight. Watched him for a while and he only caught minnows while there were larger fish available in the same area. This was taken May 2009. Spent the weekend with grandkids and will catch up on comments tonight.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a peak and for all your previous comments and favs.

Poor thing, it does look painful! But being constructed that way leaves them open to easier injury... Excellent capture, Dana!
Owie, great capture, but that had to hurt. No wonder he was only catching minnows.
I guess his parents never taught him to chew first and then swallow! Super sharp photo of this big bird.
I'm laughin' LOL. That's a strange sight but you managed to get a get shot and even bring some dignity to the silly guy. :-) Great work.

Mi piace molto. Penso essere un tipo di airone , dalle mie parti ho fotografato aironi binchi, grigi , rossi ma blu mai visti , forse non vengono da queste parti.
Ouch. Hope he's alright. Excellent capture.
Crikey what a great shot Dana!
Perfect background and "portrait"
