Description

Captured 8/25/09, around 7:45 AM, within walking distance of my decadent dwelling. A ZOOM will really bring them out in all their illustrious glory. NOTE: Morningglory is correct. I checked out the species and found that this is actually Fountain Grass, and not Foxtail, as previously titled. These were in fine fettle compared to many of the other fountain grasses in the general area. Ta-ta, and tallyho.

This collage has a wonderful glow. I almost hear the wind blow gentle and set these foxtails in movement.

I love the lines these make, and the array of colors they pass through in their life cycle. Lovely captures...

Fountain Grass is what I know it by. I need to get some more seeds, I have grown it off and on for years, love when the shines shines though it.

I'm not a authority on the subject Harry, but foxes in our neighbourhood have tails like this. Whatever way you cut it O'lboy, these are some fabulous shots. The textures and lighting are dancing all over my monitor!

(lol, marilyn's comment...I know she means the actual plant, but it sounded like the sheer picture of them makes her sneeze: Now that would be powerful photography!) You captured the luminous quality of the shoots, and how they make music together. The three shots give different ways they speak to each other: The top one is the most active, the second is more a solo shot with a single direction (and what looks like a lantern underneath, I really like that), and the third is the 'fireworks' of the shoots as they reflect light into each other. A luminous shot. I just came from the Chicago Botanic Garden (350 acres) and saw huge fields of grasses like this, and they were stunning. They weren't this particular grass, but they were similar, and you caught the way they handle and send out light. Fine work once again Harry. And I'd have never known that was a car back there, the grasses totally engaged me.
