Description

This is the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. It spans the Savannah RIver between Georgia and North Carolina. I travelled to that part of the country last year and this is another shot that just kinda got lost in my files. My friend and I never got ON the bridge, we just wandered around under it. Just the trolls and us, we were a merry bunch!!

I am always amazed at how they can actually build these bridges. Some hard work and planning. Great shot, you troll you. Aloha

Just string along with me. Stellar display of perspective and striations in this fabulous shot, Missy Marilyn! Terrific cloud effects and the bridge really looks awesome and regal to the eye.

Some great places to eat along Savannah’s riverfront. Been over and under this bridge a number of times and never thought of taking a photo from this POV. Special shot in B&W. Dana

This is a gorgeous shot. I like your forays into black and white as much as I like your forays into brilliant color...you do both so well. You do have an eye, if I do say so myself! I love the details here, the way the cables are picked out like they're delicate strands of silk, rather that super-strong strands of metal, put into place by brute force. The whole thing looks delicate and like something you'd see in a more etherial place than...well...Earth! Great work here.

well following chip is an exercise in futility, so SEE YA 'ROUND! Ok, I'll add a something. He got the amazing contrast of putting those super-strong strands of metal into place by brute force, then winding up with something delicate & ethereal. You captured that here. It's splendid: Your pov is wonderfully angled w/ all lines traveling a different way, and the b&w and those great rippling clouds make it seem like a stellar piano interior, or a harp standing out there for mighty goddesses to play. You do wonderfully in b&w (another agreement with Chip) and I hope you return to it again & again. Always going against the grain, you cropped it with the bottom of the bridge right against the edge of the photo, so it's just bridge & sky. Rootless & airborne. Exciting work!

Thanks for the "troll's eye view" of this suspension bridge. This amazing architecture looks like it uses string to hold up the bridge.
