Description
The Crab spider, Misumena vatia with the remains of her lunch, a little hoverfly, Melanostoma scalare.
She is on Phlox Blue Boy.
I was cutting some for the house, or I should never have seen her.
Nothing quite so exciting for a nature freak as a good murder!
Zoom for the full forensic delights.

Ewwwwww!!! Nice shot ANdrea, I have shivers now, lol!
An excellent example of nature, red in tooth and claw, A! This capture is beyond fabulous; rapt with color, clarity, lighting and textural effects, drama...
Great action shot as the crime is commited! It's just natures way. Excellant macro.
Awesome shot!
wonderful shot
Fantastic! Mmmm. Juicy. They smell really nice, but are you sure you still want to bring those flowers inside?
Outstanding Macro. ZOOM in and count all those eyes. Beautiful comtrast against the Phlox. Dana
No mystery about this murder--what a GREAT shot!!
Brilliant capture.
excellent capture.
oh what a delight for 6 in the morning! lol! got any more? I'm big on animals devouring each other at my dawn! (lol) It's a fine detailed capture, and with real clarity, of a basic fact of nature. I had a friend who was a gourmet cook, and her one reaction to these scenes wasn't the gore or murder, but how any self-respecting insect could settle for an insect! (Like it's gonna say, "no thanks, I'll just order some Peking Duck!") I like the light on the flower too.
great shot
wowwwwwwwwwwww !!! Never seen a spider quite like this one!!

wow amazing photo
there are so many amazing spiders in the world. This is certainly one of them
Great capture, maybe it's not killing it, maybe it's picking the flys brain for a little info....grrroan :)
An excellent shot, clearly been taking high quality photographs for many years and the quality is clear to see... interesting spider this species, I do believe they can change colour to some degree?.
