Description
Captured back on 7/14/07, early on an overcast morning, I know not where, but definitely not in a botanical garden.
Much better viewed full size.
While perusing my older photos, I came upon a long forgotten folder of dahlias, which included these four beauties.
Because I am flora challenged, all I can say in this instance is that dahlias are separated into six size categories and eleven bloom categories.
And, the background on photo #3 was Gaussian blurred for better contrast.
Toodles, and tallyho.

I'd like one of each! They are all lovely. Nicely done.
Lovely dahlias, and excellent captures, Harry!
Outstanding collage with awesome colors and details. Dana
I love the colours of No3! I shall look out for that one for next year.
so beautiful!!!
Great shots Harry..thanks for the So-Cal color...
Torn between #1 and #4. They're all spectacular shots, but those two are head-and-shoulders favs. Gorgeous!
Very gorgeous shots all of them, wow so cool. Love them and a definite fav.
Such glorious blossoms!
Gotta love the pink beauty but all wonderful in their different color tones.
They are all beautiful. Love the bottom one with the glow of yellow coming from the inside.
This is really very beautiful collage!!!
Oh my Harry - they are all so pretty but I have to agree with Tara - my heart lies between one and four! Stunning captures of nature's beauties my friend and a lovely collage! :)
Amazing what you find isn't it... second one is a real beauty... Nice pictures and a good POV... Excellent.. Rob.
Amazing captures Harry, this has got to be one of your best works to date.
Beautiful...
wow, the colors and light on these are gorgeous!!
wow, what beautiful captures! Each has a delicacy & opulence. The first has this beautiful 'edge' coloring, it's as if it dressed up for you by putting on fine gloves. The second is almost the opposite: It intensifies towards the center and seems (in your capture) to be lit from within, really nicely caught. The third has more morphing from inner petals to out, and I can definitely see why you used a guassian filter, because the blur is necessary to separate the flower from its too-similar background. And the fourth: a beautiful vision almost on fire in its coloring. 4 beautiful captures of this wonderful family. And they go together beautifully too. A definite fav.
lovely shots
