Description
This is the last of this series on male Dragonflies. I have other males from other species for a later date.
Eastern Pondhawks are very common at my pond. The females and young males have identical colors and markings. The males then go through several color changes as they mature. This one is a full mature example. I have a short series that shows these comparisons I will post at a later date.
I have seen female Eastern Pondhawks eating other species of Dragonflies and on a few occasions, small moths.
